This article discusses important factors to consider when evaluating and choosing a liberal arts college.Mars Hill University is the oldest educational institution still on its original site in Western North Carolina. School Notes:
- The University offers 5 degrees (B.A., B.S., B.M., B.F.A., and B.S.W.), 30 majors (with 61 concentrations), and 33 minors. MHU's student-to-teacher ratio is 16. Average class size for first-year courses is approximately 22 students, while the average for major curriculum courses is approximately 15. MHU competes in 18 at the NCAA Division II level (see below for details). The university also has 43 clubs and organizations.
