    Chowan University is a four-year co-educational institution, the second oldest of North Carolina’s seven Baptist colleges.

    Located in historic Murfreesboro, North Carolina, Chowan University stands in the old Albemarle region of North Carolina between the Roanoke and Chowan Rivers in the northeast corner of the state. Murfreesboro is located approximately 60 miles from Norfolk, Virginia, and 120 miles from Raleigh, North Carolina.

    Chowan University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the Bachelor's degree.
