School Notes:
- OPSU is a baccalaureate degree granting institution. General governance of the institution is in the hands for the Board of Regents of the Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical Colleges. Academic programs and financial support are authorized and coordinated through the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education.
- OPSU is organized into five academic schools: Agriculture; Business and Technology; Education; Liberal Arts; and Science, Mathematics, and Nursing. To implement its mission within the academic schools and administrative structure, the University accepts people with diverse educational backgrounds, provides public service through academic, agricultural, cultural, and social events, strives to enrich its students' lives educationally, personally, and socially, assesses all programs, experiences, and activities to ensure that student learning occurs.
- Our small class sizes afford everyone the chance to receive individual attention from faculty, and our friendly campus community ensures the development of lifelong professional and personal friends. Highly qualified, caring faculty instruct our students, and our "students as customers" motto is a concept central to everything connected with OPSU.
- OPSU is accredited by the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The University is an institutional member of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education and the Oklahoma System of Higher Education. It is approved by NCATE and the State Board of Education for the preparation of elementary and secondary teachers.
