This article discusses important factors to consider when evaluating and choosing a liberal arts college.Schreiner is a small Presbyterian-related, coeducational university dedicated to educating primarily undergraduate students in the liberal arts, sciences, and professional disciplines, preparing them for entry into specific careers and graduate or professional programs. Small class sizes, 13-to-1 student/teacher ratio and accessible, engaged faculty create the atmosphere where student success is the highest priority. Schreiner University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award masters, baccalaureate and associate degrees.

School Notes:
- Schreiner University offers 27 majors and programs of study including very well-regarded ones in Biology/Life Sciences/Pre-med, Graphic Design and Business.
- Through generous financial aid, Schreiner remains accessible to students whose families’ economic resources range across the spectrum. In fact, the average Schreiner student finds that their tuition and fee cost is within $1,950 of what they would pay at a major public university.
- Schreiner students enjoy a traditional residential lifestyle and modern housing; new this year is Faulkner Hall, a state-of-the-art freshman residence and the Mountaineer Fitness Center. Students participate in a variety of extra-curricular activities, on and off-campus. The Student Activities Office brings featured performers from all over the world for live music concerts, comedy shows and lectures. Campus Rec provides programs and equipment for a range of outdoor games and activities such as intramural football and river kayaking.
- Nearly one third of Schreiner students participate in NCAA Division III sports in the American Southwest Conference.
- Schreiner is located in Kerrville, Texas, in the heart of the beautiful Hill Country, a hour from San Antonio and 90 minutes from Austin. The 170-acre campus adjacent to the Guadalupe River is also home to abundant native wildlife, including a herd of Whitetail deer.
- Although related to the Presbyterian Church (USA), Schreiner welcomes students, faculty and staff from all faith groups.
