This article discusses important factors to consider when evaluating and choosing a liberal arts college.Hastings College is a private, undergraduate, four-year, residential liberal arts college. It was founded in 1882 by a group of men and women seeking to establish a Presbyterian-related college dedicated to high academic and cultural standards – traits that still apply 124 years later.

School Notes:
- Hastings College students have two options for completing their course of study: the Liberal Arts Program and the Personalized Program. Most Hastings College students complete the Liberal Arts Program, which includes at least one recognized major field and a series of general education requirements. The primary goal of the Liberal Arts Program at Hastings College is to stimulate intellectual curiosity and excitement essential to life-long learning.
- The Hastings College campus is situated on 109 beautifully landscaped acres. Within that space sits 40 buildings spanning from the traditional McCormick Hall built in 1883 to the gleaming Osborne Family Sports Complex / Fleharty Educational Center built in 2002 and the ultra-comfortable Bronco Village student apartments completed in 2005.
- Hastings College is recognized as a National Liberal Arts College in the U.S. News and World Report annual “America’s Best Colleges” issue and a Best Midwestern College by Princeton Review.
- Hastings College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) since 1947 and the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) since 1964
